Why lomo?

I got a good email question today from a fellow photographer who got curious with all the lomo shit I'm getting into.

My reply:
Good question. :)

- The uniqueness of the photos. The vignettes & blurry shots. Kahit na
sabihin mong kaya sa photoshop, iba pa din pag diretso sa film. Purist
kahit papano.

- Not worrying if my shots are crappy. The crappier, the more we call
it art. Haha.

- The surprise of getting all red, green, yellow or bluish photos from
the cheap expired slides we use and cross process.

- The wait of finishing and processing a roll of film.

- Not having to worry that our "gears" will be obsolete in the next
coming months because another "higher" model is coming out.

- We consider lomo as a lifestyle. It is part of our daily life.

- The community of lomomanila.

- More reason for some other members here:

It's cultish, so it is beyond reason.

Have fun!

If this is a cult, then I'm lovin' it!
