Meow
The next iteration of Mac OS X came out last Friday, I managed to get a copy from the Palo Alto Apple Store after work. Too bad I couldn't get out of the office earlier so that I could have gotten a shirt, but that would also have meant having to wait in line for the store to reopen at 6pm. Oh well...
I had backed up my laptop the night before. Being slightly paranoid at losing any of the photos that I have yet to go over, I backed up using the .Mac Backup program, as well as CarbonCopy Cloner.
Having the 2 backups actually helped, as I prefer clean installs. I reformatted my hard drive and restored preferences and email from the .Mac backup. Then after reinstalling my software, I found that having restored the preferences from the backup prevented Toast Titanium from reinstalling the TiVo Transfer software, since the setup program thought that Tivo Transfer was already installed. So, I just grabbed the app from my CCC clone... worked out pretty well.
I haven't reinstalled all of the software that I originally had, I'm waiting for when I actually need them to do so. That keeps my hard drive pretty clean. Of course, those 2 backups are using up a lot of space on my external hard drive... I'll have to figure that out later on...
In the meantime, I'm having fun exploring the new Leopard features...

Software Update
Well an upgrade to the system software running on my host hosed my old MoveableType installation, forcing me to update it to MoveableType 3.X and probably later on to 4.01...
Why am I posting this? Well, think of this as a test entry...
