I have had... (updated)

lexuslogo_2.jpg...this silly grin on my face since Saturday evening. I've been lusting after the Lexus RX-330 since it was announced, and last Saturday with Don's help, I finally gave in. I had to go to 5 dealers before we found the model/trim level and deal that I wanted. An AWD Lexus RX-330 with the Navigation and Performance Package installed.

The color is called "Bamboo Pearl" which is basically silver, and looks like it turns slightly green or silver or gray, depending on how the light hits it. It has the (links will popup a window from Lexus.com) onboard GPS Navigation System, an in-dash 6-disc CD changer, air suspension, sequential automatic transmission, Power Rear Door, HID with AFS and more...

From the back:

Rear quarter view:

The navigation system screen which also shows the image from the backup camera, and a look at the 6-disc in-dash CD player/radio:

The instrument cluster:

Definitely fun to drive.

JB plays with his "Digeridoo" in front of the chroma-key background we used for shooting video:

Video will follow as soon as I finish editing. Lagot kayo.

More games... (Updated)

Logging onto iChat as soon as I got home, I soon got an IM from Vic Icasas with links to more web games, Home Run and the Parallel Parking Game. Both of which are keeping me up. And, I have to drive to LA in a few hours. Grrr. Thanks for the links, Vic. Of course, he had to post his records, of 58meters for Home Run and a score of 139.13 in 3.60 seconds for Parallel Parking. I'm getting close with Home Run, where my current record stands at 55m, just 3m shy of Vic's record. *sigh* puyat nanaman.

Ok, so I've managed to beat Vic's Home Run record...

And conveniently, Vic is now offline. Shet. Now, for that Parallel Parking record...

Ok, so I just can't help it:

One Year...

mt3-logo-small.gifThis blog is now officially 1 year old. Thanks to Movable Type, this blog is updated a little bit more regularly than the first one, which was just plain HTML.

The site is currently running an older version of Movable Type, version 2.64, and soon will be moving to version 3.0, as soon as I figure out the content for the main page.

Web Games

The World Wide Web is rife with web games. These games range from "what the hell were they thinking?" to borderline addicting. One of my favorite websites for web games is Popcap.com which brought you games such as Bejeweled (pictured) and my favorite, Zuma. Too bad Zuma is Windows only.

Today, I found a new game, courtesy of Glady. It simulates those shooting galleries you find at carnivals or fairs. It's a lot of fun, and can be addicting.

Going through...

...a bunch of old photos I had on my hard drive, I came across this photo I took earlier in the year. This was taken at one of the videoke places in LA.

Here's the group:

L-R: Eddie Boy, Trina, Jerson, Penny, Mike and Bobby

I was supposed to be in the picture, but I managed to cut myself off leaving just my hand on Bobby's shoulder. Galing ko!

Raiding the Apple Store

lotsa_stuff.jpgI've been raiding various Apple Stores in California, including the MacMall store in Torrance. The Apple Airport Express is one of the hardest gadgets to find these days, since as soon as a store gets it in stock, they sell out within a few hours. It has to be one of Apple's fastest selling items ever. They can't keep them on the shelves.

Another hard-to-find item these days, surprisingly, is the new fourth generation Apple iPod. With a price reduction for the 40Gb iPod, a new click-wheel, and a promise of better battery life, these have been flying off the shelves too. When I tried to get one, I had to drive to 4 different Apple Stores in the Bay Area to find one that had it in stock!

As for the Airport Extreme Base Station, it's going to be replacing an old Linksys 802.11b wireless router that I have at home. This should be fun.

One thing that isn't on the store shelves yet, is Apple's new Motion software. Built to work seamlessly with Final Cut Pro HD to produce motion graphics. I can't wait to get a copy.
