Toys R Us

Last Tuesday, in hopes of heading off any jet lag, I went off to Palo Alto to search for a replacement for my old point and shoot digital, the Nikon Coolpix 2500. I was weighing my options between two cameras, the Canon S500 vs. the Nikon Coolpix 5200.

Both had 5MP sensors, and good glass. Sizes were about the same. The only thing that stopped me from getting the Nikon was that it used SecureDigital (SD) cards. And I already had quite a few high-capacity CompactFlash (CF) cards. Too bad, Nikon decided to head that way, basically abandoning the fact that all their other cameras used CF cards.

Tough luck for those upgrading from an older camera (like me) to a newer model. Of course, there are other Nikon models to choose from, but I wanted something that was easy to slip into a pant pocket and not look like I was stuffing my pants.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with my choice. It's my first Canon camera, and so far, it's been a decent ride. I'll post more comments about the camera as I get to use it... :)

Congratulations!!!

Congratulations to my friends, Raymon and Kit who are getting married later today at Treasure Island. I will be the primary wedding photographer for the day. So, watch out for pictures sometime soon.

But, that also means, I won't be updating my blog any more today. Oh well. Maybe next week.

Updates...

I know, I've been remiss in updating my blog. Can I help it if I got stuck in Manila for over 3 weeks with dialup access for the most part?

I'll be posting pics from the trip soon. The sad part is, I brought my camera with me, but hardly used it. So, most of the pictures that you will get to see would have been taken by someone else. What can I say? I was on vacation!

Jetlag. Yep. For the first time in a very long time, I'm suffering from jetlag. I've been up since 1am this morning, and haven't been able to sleep. I'm sure I'll be feeling this later in the day, poor Kit and Raymon. Hehehe...
