Raiding the Apple Store

lotsa_stuff.jpgI've been raiding various Apple Stores in California, including the MacMall store in Torrance. The Apple Airport Express is one of the hardest gadgets to find these days, since as soon as a store gets it in stock, they sell out within a few hours. It has to be one of Apple's fastest selling items ever. They can't keep them on the shelves.

Another hard-to-find item these days, surprisingly, is the new fourth generation Apple iPod. With a price reduction for the 40Gb iPod, a new click-wheel, and a promise of better battery life, these have been flying off the shelves too. When I tried to get one, I had to drive to 4 different Apple Stores in the Bay Area to find one that had it in stock!

As for the Airport Extreme Base Station, it's going to be replacing an old Linksys 802.11b wireless router that I have at home. This should be fun.

One thing that isn't on the store shelves yet, is Apple's new Motion software. Built to work seamlessly with Final Cut Pro HD to produce motion graphics. I can't wait to get a copy.
